This is the reflection i wrote at the end of freshman year the assignment was to write what we thought about the year in general i wrote about what i learned from freshman year. It was may 24, the last full week of the semester, almost the end of my first year of teaching high school english at westy, as everyone called it westminster high school in the denver metro area had been my first choice after graduating from project promise, a one-year teacher licensure program for mid-career professionals.
Reflection on my first week of school challenges/responsibility i had a pretty smooth transition from middle school to high school but now that i've experienced my first week i feel that i can understand the various changes that come along with high school. The classic college experience - feeling isolated in a crowd is a common experience among university freshmen during the first few weeks on campus. This week was the first full week of school and, because of this, i have really learned a lot about creating a positive learning environment for my students a positive learning environment encourages social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self motivation.
